By viewing this page you have made the biggest and toughest step towards your better tomorrow, you should be proud of yourself!

  • I’m a qualified Psychotherapist, certified in EMDR and DBT, and a certified Clinical Supervisor. I have worked across a wide range of health and social care settings, including substance rehabilitation services and various mental health environments. This experience has given me a deep understanding of the complex and often overwhelming challenges people can face.

I believe that every person is unique and deserves the opportunity to live the best life they can. Therapy is not a “one size fits all” process. I work with the individual in front of me, tailoring our work together to suit your needs, goals and pace.

Reaching out for support can feel daunting, especially when talking about painful or difficult experiences. My approach is warm, welcoming and empathetic. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can begin to relax, feel heard and open up in your own time.

I offer both short- and long-term therapy, depending on what feels right for you. Standard sessions are 50 minutes, with flexibility available where needed.

Taking the first step can be the hardest — but you don’t have to face things alone

What is counselling/psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy (often called counselling or talking therapy) is a confidential, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and life experiences with a trained professional.

It’s a collaborative process that helps you better understand yourself, make sense of difficulties, and develop healthier ways of coping. You might come to therapy because of anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, trauma, loss, or simply a feeling that something isn’t quite right.

Psychotherapy isn’t about being told what to do. It’s about being listened to without judgement, gaining insight, and finding your own way forward — at a pace that feels right for you

What is DBT?

DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) is a structured, skills-based therapy that helps people manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and cope more effectively with stress.

It focuses on four key areas:

  • Mindfulness – staying present and aware

  • Distress Tolerance – getting through difficult moments safely

  • Emotion Regulation – understanding and managing strong feelings

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness – communicating needs and setting boundaries

DBT balances acceptance (“this is where I am right now”) with change (“I can learn new ways to cope”).

Originally developed to support people experiencing overwhelming emotions, it is now widely used for anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a structured psychotherapy approach designed to help people process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences.

When something overwhelming happens, the brain can struggle to fully process it. This can leave memories feeling “stuck,” so they continue to trigger strong emotions, thoughts, or physical reactions long after the event.

EMDR works by using bilateral stimulation (often guided eye movements, tapping, or sounds) while you briefly focus on aspects of the memory. This helps the brain reprocess the experience so it becomes less emotionally charged and feels more like something in the past rather than something still happening now.

It is widely used for trauma and PTSD, but can also help with anxiety, phobias, low self-esteem, and other emotional difficulties

What is Exposure therapy?

Exposure therapy can help people deal with several different issues from having social anxiety to phobia’s. An example of social anxiety: if your fear is going into shops, we can work on strategies that help with the anxiety that you feel, and can lead up to me coming into a shop with you. Regarding phobias, this could be doing some work on strategies to help you deal with your fear, leading up to you being able to either look at pictures of your fear or actually confronting your fear.
